| The present bibliography on pelagic Tunicates has been compiled over a period of 4 years, mainly by the first author. It is meant, not as an official publication, but as a working aid for students of pelagic Tunicates. It comprises about 1300-1400 different titles of books and articles. For obvious reasons the mere listing of all those titles in alphabetical order would be impractical for specialized demands. Splitting this list in as many subheadings as possible in a way like the Zoological Record would be ideal. However, many articles and books are difficult to place under one heading; the same titles would have to be mentioned under a number of different headings. With as many headings as possible this would mean a multiplication of the 1300-1400 titles... |

| In clinical chemistry it can be very useful to have a rapid method for the determination of trace elements in biological material available. Because the classical wet digestion method which is generally used for the destruction of biological materials requires much attention, two procedures were tried which should be less time consuming or require less attention. The two new procedures which are the soluene (a quaternary ammonium hydroxide) method of Jackson (1) and the method of Adrian (2) utilizing pressure were applied to the determination of Cu and Zn in human brain tissue and in fish meal by atomic absorption spectroscopy. |

| A biometrical analysis of preserved specimens of Bufo bufo, supplemented by a detailed examination of the shape of the skin warts, was performed in order to ascertain the taxonomic status of the form described as B.b.spinosus. Indications of a N.-S. clinal variation in the formation of wart thorns and in allometric relations of body elements were found. The validity of the form as a distinct subspecies seems accordingly very doubtful. |

| As mudas utilizadas no experimento foram plantadas em setembro de 1971, sendo cinco os tratamentos: planta matriz sem rebento, planta matriz com seleção dos rebentos, de janeiro, março e maio de 1972 e planta matriz com todos os rebentos. Os resultados obtidos revelam influência da época da seleção dos rebentos sobre: diâmetro do pseudo-caule e lançamento de folhas no mês de abril, durante a fase de desenvolvimento vegetativo; número de dias decorridos do plantio ao florescimento, número de plantas florescidas no mês de julho, número de folhas, altura e diâmetro do pseudo-caule, número de pencas por cacho e altura do rebento na fase do florescimento. |

| INTRODUCTION The new species Centropages karachiensis which is described below was found in small numbers in surface hauls made during September inside Karachi harbour and in the Korangi Creek area situated about 7 miles southeast of the Karachi harbour break water. The holotype is deposited in the Institute of Marine Biology, University of Karachi and the paratypes in the British Museum (Natural History), London and the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie, Leiden (Reg. no.
